To help you get up to speed in Scaffcalc, here are some useful shortcuts. We've listed the most important ones below.
Mac or PC
Keyboard shortcuts may differ depending on your computer.
- Cmd on Mac is equivalent to Ctrl on PC.
Keyboard Shortcuts
- Esc = Exit active modes
- Cmd + Z (Mac) / Ctrl + Z (PC) = Undo
- Cmd + Shift + Z (Mac) / Ctrl + Shift + Z (PC) = Redo
- Cmd + S (Mac) / Ctrl + S (PC) = Save your project
- Space = Fit the screen to all objects
- Cmd + / Cmd - = Zoom in/out (Using a mouse is generally easier for zooming)
- Backspace (Mac) / Delete (PC) = Remove selected object
- Shift + Click = Select multiple components, objects, or items (Cmd can also be used for selecting/deselecting in some views)
- Shift + Hold = When building corners, hold Shift to turn the bay, snapping at intervals for straight lines.
- Cmd + C = Copy Object
- Cmd + V = Paste Objects
Tools:
- S = Select Mode
- R = Rectangle Mode
- P = Polygon Mode
- B = Box Mode
Polygon:
- Enter = Commit polygon when you are finished with your shape.
House/Ground:
- Up/Down arrow = Adjust house or ground height.
Box/New Bay:
- Up/Down arrow = Adjust box height or bay height.
- Left/Right arrow = Adjust box length or bay length.
Change building height
You can adjust the building height by adding or subtracting the desired value. Simply type --2 followed by the height to lower it, or ++ followed by the height to raise it. For example --2 or ++2 will decrease or increase the building by 2 meters.
Adjust multiple bays' height
If your bays have different starting heights and you want to adjust them by the same interval, for example, 2 meters, you can type ++2
in the 'Max Beam Level' field. The same applies if you want to lower the bays by 2 meters, just use --2
instead.
